Burning Tips & Solutions

Uneven Burn: If your candle burns unevenly, try trimming the wick to ¼ inch before each use. This helps prevent flickering and ensures a more even melt pool.

Mushrooming Wick: If the wick develops a “mushroom” shape, trim it down. A long or charred wick can cause soot and an uneven burn.

Soot or Black Marks: If you notice soot or black marks, ensure the wick is trimmed and that there’s enough airflow around the candle. Avoid burning the candle in drafty areas.

Wax Pool Issues: For a candle that doesn’t melt evenly, burn it long enough for the top layer of wax to pool out to the edges of the container. This prevents tunneling and ensures a full melt pool.

Candle Won’t Stay Lit: If your candle keeps going out, check for drafts, trim the wick, and ensure the wick isn’t too long or too short. Also, make sure the wick is not submerged in wax.

Candle Still Wont Light: If your candle keeps going out, light the wick and carefully tilt the candle to disperse the wax in and around the wick. This will help give the wick room to breath and light.

Flickering Flame: A flickering flame can indicate a draft or an oversized wick. Trim the wick and place the candle away from drafts to stabilize the flame.

Candle Tunneling: If the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax around the edges, burn it for longer periods to create an even melt pool. This will help avoid tunneling and ensure an even burn.

Avoid Over-Burning: Don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool and solidify before relighting to extend its life and maintain a clean burn.

Use a Candle Lid: When not in use, cover your candle with its lid to prevent dust from settling on the wax and to help preserve the fragrance.
